Ken Jacobs, PCC, CPC, ELI-MP, an experienced consultant and certified coach, is the principal of Jacobs Consulting & Executive Coaching.

Since 2007, his firm has helped agencies grow and manage business, improve client service and relationships, and enhance staff performance. It does so via consulting and training.

In addition, through his executive coaching, he has helped leaders from C-suite executives to managers, achieve and surpass their goals.

Jacobs holds Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentials from the International Coach Federation (ICF), and is accredited as a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), Energy Leadership Index (ELI) Master Practitioner  and a COR.E Leadership Dynamics Specialist (CLDS) by the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC).

Prior to launching his companies, Jacobs spent 25 years in management and leadership positions with a number of public relations agencies, including Ogilvy & Mather PR; Ogilvy; Adams & Rinehart; Marina Maher Communications; and Maloney & Fox. At each of these firms, Ken served on senior management and leadership committees responsible for staff development, training, morale, recruitment, and retention.

While at Marina Maher Communications, Jacobs founded and led “MMC Masters,” the agency’s training program, which was cited for excellence by PR industry magazine The Holmes Report.

In addition to his work with clients,  Jacobs shares his knowledge through  “Taking The Lead,” his monthly leadership column for the Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Public Relations Tactics,     and his similarly named video podcast.

He has also written on leadership development, executive coaching and agency management for PR News , O’Dwyer’s PR Newsletter (Link to one of my columns) and PRSA’s earlier publication,  The Public Relations Strategist.

Jacobs is a Senior Counselor to Prosper Group, which advises communications agencies.

He is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), and served in 2017 as Secretary/Director of Communications on the Board of ICF-NJ. He currently is a volunteer of the chapter’s communications committee.

He is an active member of PRSA’s Counselors Academy, and is a regular presenter at its Spring Conference.  Ken’s a member of and mentor for PRSA NY. Previously, he served for many years on the board of PRSA’s New Jersey chapter, where he received its 2014 Pyramid Award for Chapter Service because of his efforts on the Senior Practitioners Group. Ken also served on the Board of PRSA Tri-State District.

Ken graduated with honors from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, with a dual B.S. in public relations and speech communications.
